CHARLOTTE – The Panthers' first draft pick became the last to sign his contract, when first-round defensive tackle Vernon Butler put pen to paper before the start of Carolina's annual rookie minicamp.
A 6-4, 323-pounder, Butler amassed 170 tackles, including 29.5 for loss and five sacks in his college career at Louisiana Tech. With his rare blend of size and quickness, Butler is expected to add to a strong group of interior linemen headed by Kawann Short and Star Lotulelei.
Second-round cornerback James Bradberry, third-round cornerback Kevon Seymour, fifth-round cornerback Zack Sanchez and seventh-round tight end Beau Sandland previously signed.
Carolina's seven college free agents signed contracts as well. Click here to see the updated roster page.
