CHARLOTTE - The Carolina Panthers will select seventh in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Panthers finished with a 5-11 record, tied with the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers. Based on strength of schedule calculations, Carolina will pick seventh while Miami picks fifth and Los Angeles picks sixth.
In the team's history, Carolina has had seven prior first-round selections in the top 10 of the draft, but has never drafted seventh. Carolina has selected in the top 10 three times since 2011, selecting Cam Newton (1, 2011), Luke Kuechly (9, 2012) and Christian McCaffrey (8, 2017). That trio has combined for 11 Pro Bowls since 2011.
Some of the recent seventh overall picks include LB Josh Allen (Jacksonville, 2019), QB Josh Allen (Buffalo, 2018), WR Mike Williams (Los Angeles Chargers, 2017), DE DeForest Buckner (San Francisco, 2016), WR Kevin White (Chicago, 2015) and WR Mike Evans (Tampa Bay, 2014).
The 2020 NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Las Vegas.
