Panthers quarterback Cam Newton published an Instagram post on Thursday, following surgery on his left foot.
Interim head coach Perry Fewell indicated on Wednesday that the surgery had been a success and that Newton was recovering in Atlanta.
Newton played in two games this season against Los Angeles and Tampa Bay before being ruled out in Week 3. He went on injured reserve on November 5.
In his post today, Newton displayed a picture of his left foot in a boot with the caption: "God Thank You for a successful surgery; Thank You for all the prayers and well wishes...It's been a hectic last couple of nights but the best news is knowing; you can only go up from here. #shinethrutheshade -1OVE"
