Bryce Young to start at quarterback again this week

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers are going to stick with Bryce Young this week.

Head coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that the plan was to start Young Sunday at home against the Saints, his second straight start since returning to the lineup.

Veteran Andy Dalton practiced Wednesday, his first work since a car accident eight days ago, which kept him out of uniform against Denver.

Young is coming off what was, by most statistical measures, his best game since Christmas Eve last year against the Packers (when he threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns).

Against the Broncos, Young was 24-of-37 for 224 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. It was the second-highest passing yardage total of the season against the Broncos, who rank third in the league in total defense and fourth in passing defense.

Young led the Panthers to touchdowns on their first and last drives of the game, though they gained just six first downs in the nine possessions between.
