CHARLOTTE – Linebacker Luke Kuechly and guard Andrew Norwell were named to the 2017 Associated Press All-Pro team.
"That's awesome," head coach Ron Rivera said. "I think both those young men deserve it."
For Kuechly, who led the Panthers with 125 tackles and three interceptions, this is his fourth AP All-Pro team selection. Kuechly was the only Panther voted to this year's Pro Bowl.
For Norwell, who started all 16 games for the second consecutive season, this is his first AP All-Pro team selection. The former undrafted free agent has developed into one of the most reliable guards in the NFL.
"He is such a great team player," Rivera said. "A big part of it is who he is as a young man, how hard he works, his dedication. He takes coaching very, very well. He takes constructive criticism very well. He applies it and improves himself.
"He is a heck of a football player."
Right tackle Daryl Williams was named a second-team AP All-Pro. Williams, in his first season as a starter from Week 1, has been a pleasant surprise with his consistent play throughout the year. Williams was a fourth-round draft choice in 2015.
Kuechly, Norwell, Williams also were the three Panthers named to the Pro Football Focus All-Pro team.
In addition, tight end Ed Dickson has been named winner of the team's Tom Berry Good Guy Award, presented since 2009 by the Carolinas chapter of the Pro Football Writers Association to the player most helpful to the media.
