CHARLOTTE — With less than a month until the commissioner steps to the podium in Green Bay, we're fully immersed in draft season.

The Panthers hold the No. 8 overall pick in this year's draft, so there is already plenty of conversation about which way the club could go with the pick.

We'll keep tabs on what some of the draft experts think the Panthers should do by tracking the mock drafts between now and the April 24-26 event.

The Panthers have nine total picks, including eight in the first five rounds.

You can see all of their picks here, and we'll keep you posted on all the latest at Panthers.com.

PROJECTED TRADE WITH DALLAS COWBOYS

Alignment versatility's all the rage among NFL pass catchers. Consequently, inside/outside ability's never been more valuable to NFL defenses. And that's exactly what Barron provides. Having just won the Jim Thorpe Award as college football's top defensive back, the Texas product lined up all over the field as a starter for the last three seasons, deftly executing different techniques across myriad coverages. Then he put the cherry on top with a 4.39 40-yard dash in Indianapolis. Carolina just locked up CB1 Jaycee Horn through 2029. Jahdae can be the resourceful Robin to Jaycee's Batman.

Edge Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

Though the Carolina Panthers gained momentum late in the 2024 season, their defense was a weak spot. They've made some aggressive moves for defensive linemen in free agency, but they probably aren't quite finished just yet.

Shemar Stewart is a physical specimen with size, power, and explosiveness that make him a nightmare for offensive tackles. The sack numbers weren't there in 2024, but his tape tells a different story.

Edge Jalon Walker, Georgia

Walker is a versatile player who can line up both on and off the ball. In 2024, he played 249 snaps on the line of scrimmage, 311 as a second-level box defender and 61 as a second-level overhang defender. The Panthers would likely use him as an edge to get the biggest return on their draft investment.

Edge Mike Green, Marshall

The former UVA transfer played at Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia, the same school that produced Lawrence Taylor. Green, who weighed 251 pounds at the Senior Bowl, is incredibly explosive off the snap, plays with surprising power and consistently uses his hands well to get off blocks. He had the 1-on-1 rep of the week down in Mobile and his tape backs it up.
