Week 18 Wednesday Injury Report: Robby Anderson held out

InjuryReport-wed-week18

CHARLOTTE — A frustrating year for Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson is now being capped by an injury that kept him off the practice field.

Anderson was out of practice Wednesday because of a quad issue.

He played Sunday against the Saints, but this hasn't been a year to remember for him.

After setting career-highs with 95 catches for 1,096 yards last year, Anderson's numbers have fallen off sharply as part of the team's overall offensive malaise. He has 46 catches for 469 yards and four touchdowns this year.

The Panthers were also missing four other players from the final Wednesday practice of the regular season.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and wide receiver Shi Smith were out with what was described as an illness.

Cornerback Stephon Gilmore and safety Sean Chandler were also out with groin injuries, while cornerback CJ Henderson (knee) was limited in practice.

Henderson was dressed for last week's game but didn't play, as the knee was enough of an issue to keep him up only as an emergency option.
