CHARLOTTE - Safety Dean Marlowe's season is over barely after it began.
The Panthers have placed Marlowe on injured reserve after he aggravated a hamstring injury in his season debut Sunday. Marlowe, who initially sustained the injury before Carolina's first preseason game, played three defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps against the 49ers.
Marlowe made the Panthers' 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie last season and appeared in four games, recording one tackle on defense and one on special teams.
The Panthers didn't announce a corresponding move and currently have 52 players on their roster.
